Breast Conditions

Breast Cancer

There are several different types of breast cancer. The type of cancer you have is very important when making decisions about timing of treatments.

Breast Cysts

A breast cyst is a fluid-filled sac inside the breast which are usually benign (not cancerous). Cysts can be single or multiple. They can change with the menstrual cycle and can come and go.

Breast Implants

You may have implants for breast reconstruction following breast cancer or breast augmentation. Women may also consider breast implant removal (explant) or revision surgery.

Breast Pain/Mastalgia

Up to 70% of women will experience breast pain at some time in their life. We often think that pain is a cause for concern, but this is rarely the case with breast pain.

Fibroadenoma

A fibroadenoma is a very common benign lump that occurs when there is an overgrowth of the supportive tissue of the breast & the cells that line the milk ducts.

Nipple Discharge & Papillomas

Nipple discharge is fluid that is released from the nipple. It is a very common breast symptom and in most cases it is part of the normal function of the breast.
